How to Get to Okunoshima (Rabbit Island) from Hiroshima – Step-by-Step Guide via Tadanoumi

Okunoshima, also known as Rabbit Island, is one of the most unique destinations in Japan.
Getting there is actually simple, but many travelers feel unsure once they arrive at Tadanoumi Station.

This guide shows you exactly what to do, step by step, so you won’t get lost.

■ Step 1: Get off at Tadanoumi Station

Take the JR train and get off at Tadanoumi Station.
You’ll see the station sign in English, so it’s easy to confirm you’re in the right place.


■ Step 2: Turn right after exiting the station

Exit the station and turn right.
Walk for about 1–2 minutes.

Soon, you will see a road sign pointing to:

  • Okunoshima
  • Tadanoumi Port

■ Step 3: Walk to Tadanoumi Port (about 5 minutes)
